Sooner than we embark on asking if stars are in high spirits, allow us at the outset to observe what is happiness? If I feel first-rate for a brief moment a day of the week, and horrible for the remainder of the period, am I content? What if I am blissful for eight hours a calendar day and horrible for the balance of the sixteen hours? Am I a fortunate person? On behalf of most of us happiness is a state that is not everlasting.
